The Italian kitchen in Dubai is the heart of the home, and having the right tools and equipment can make all the difference in your cooking and baking endeavors. Some countless gadgets and gizmos claim to be essential for the modern kitchen, but you only really need a few key items to get the job done. Here are the five things that I consider essential in any kitchen:
A good knife:
A sharp, high-quality knife is an absolute must in any kitchen. Whether chopping, dicing or slicing, a good knife will make your prep work a breeze. Look for a knife with a comfortable handle and a sturdy blade, and invest in a sharpening stone to keep your blade in top condition.
A reliable oven:
Whether baking cookies or roasting a chicken, an oven is an essential appliance in the kitchen. Look for an oven with accurate temperature control, a timer, and multiple cooking settings. If you have the space and budget, consider a convection oven, which uses a fan to circulate hot air for faster, more even cooking.
A good set of pots and pans:
A good set of pots and pans is essential for any home cook. Look for pots and pans made of materials that conduct heat well, such as stainless steel or copper. You’ll also want to ensure you have a range of sizes to suit your cooking needs.
A blender or food processor:
A blender or food processor is invaluable for quickly and easily pureeing, blending, and chopping ingredients. A high-quality blender or food processor can also make quick work of tasks like grinding nuts, making nut butter, and blending smoothies.
A reliable refrigerator:
A reliable refrigerator is essential for keeping your ingredients fresh and your food safe. Look for a model with adjustable shelves and bins to help you organize your items, and consider features like a built-in ice maker or water dispenser if you use these features regularly.
These are the five things that I consider essential in any kitchen. Of course, many other tools and appliances can be useful in the kitchen, but these are the ones I find myself using the most. With a good knife, reliable oven, set of pots and pans, blender or food processor, and a reliable refrigerator, you’ll be well-equipped to tackle just about any recipe.
